    Early Years and Training

    Geneva, Illinois was where Mark grew up. Early passion of music drove him to study at the University of North Texas. There he joined the One O’Clock Lab Band with Grammy nomination. He gained invaluable experience performing with icons like Bobby McFerrin and Arturo Sandoval.

    The Dallas Horn era

    Mark signed with the Dallas Horns following graduation. He started to arrange and write for them mostly. He helped albums like Christmas (2016) get ready and worked on others like Get a Job!). His tenure with the ensemble helped to define his musical path.

    Mark traveled with Dallas Horns worldwide. Their outstanding performances included Louiz Banks and Ranjit Barot in the 2017 Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa, India.

    Work along with AR Rahman

    In 2018 Mark and the Dallas Horns worked with AR Rahman. They traveled with AR Rahman Live, arranging horns that combined Western influences with Rahman’s works. One highlight was their performance in Qatar at the Khalifa International Stadium.

    Going to Los Angeles

    Mark moved to Los Angeles in order to advance his musical career. He worked with jazz greats including Theo Croker and Marvin Smitty Smith. To display his range as a musician, he also wrote horn parts for mainstream songs.

    A fresh chapter in India

    2021 saw Mark go to Mumbai, India. He became completely engross with the local music scene and started touring the nation. On the MaMoGi project, he worked alongside Gino Banks and Mohini Dey. His contributions to Bollywood scores underlined even more his variety as a saxophone.

    Instruments and Endorsements

    Mark plays instruments by Ochres Saxophones and uses JodyJazz mouthpieces. His gear includes:

    • Ochres Tenor V5

    Instructing and Mentoring

    Mark spends his time instructing upcoming musicians. He motivates pupils to grow creatively and skillfully. Encouraging the next generation of saxophonists, his seminars center on technical excellence and artistic expression.
